TRANSFER STATION NEW OPERATING REQUIREMENTS
Transfer Station Operations during COVID-19 Emergency
The emergency measures which have been necessary in the fight against COVID-19 have resulted in many more of us working from or confined to our homes. As a result, there have been some unintended consequences.
Over the past two weeks the activity level at the Transfer Station has increased dramatically, bringing groups of people (including some in probable quarantine status) into extended close contact with each other. The resulting hazard to the health of residents and employees alike is unnecessary and avoidable.
Effective immediately, residents are required to limit their disposal to that household trash and recycling generated at home during the week. The following are types of trash for which disposal must be deferred: unwanted material from basement cleanouts, loads of construction debris, unwanted refrigerators and air conditioners.
Your adaptability to change brought about by this health threat has been much appreciated. Your continued support will be invaluable.
