PROPOSED ORDINANCE AMENDMENTS

Proposals are a direct result of recent legislative changes requiring the Town Code to be updated.

To amend the Little Compton Town Code by updating the Code due to new legislation adopted by the General Assembly to RIGL 45-24-31, 45-24-38, 45-24-40, 45-24-41, 45-24-42, and 45-24-46, which is effective as of January 1, 2024.   This amendment shall take effect upon passage.  Amendments will be made to Little Compton Town Code Chapter 14-2.7 – Land Nonconforming by Area, 14-5.5 Accessory Dwelling Units, 14-9.1 – Enforcement, 14-9.4 – Voting, 14-9.5,a – Special Use Permit Standards, 14-9.6 – Dimensional Variance Standards.

At the public hearing opportunity shall be given to all persons interested to be heard upon the matter of the proposed amendment. The proposal may be altered or amended prior to the close of the public hearing without further advertising, as a result of further study or because of the views expressed at the public hearing.  Any such alteration or amendment must be presented for comment in the course of said hearing.

Individuals requesting interpreter services for the hearing impaired must notify the Town Clerk’s Office at (401) 635-4400, 72 hours in advance of the hearing date.
